Honor Band Festival in Italy - June 2013

Quality high school musicians and their directors (chaperones) are invited to participate in the inaugural All- American Honor Band festival program in the Eternal City: the fabulous Rome, Italy. Students will enjoy an opportunity to perform in an outstanding concert band selected from applicants throughout the Eastern United States.

Rome is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and our concerts will be presented in awe inspiring venues around the city. We will mix fine music with cultural immersion into the history and culture of Rome – the cradle of so much of the arts today. We will visit all of the iconic sites and feel them come alive with the commentary from our fine guides.

Careful planning of repertory and instrumentation will provide participants an important musical experience. Honor Band members will experience the high standards of performance and musical interpretation for which the Festival Directors are renowned.

John Wakefield and John Mitchell have been associated since 1968. Their collaboration on the All American Honor Band combines nearly 90 years of successful band leadership providing an unparalleled learning experience for the participants.
