EXPLORE THE BRILLIANT MUSIC OF ITALY
From Medieval to Renaissance, from Baroque through Classic, Romantic and Modern, the great musical masterpieces by Italian composers are nothing less than brilliant. Breathtaking in their compositions their music has stood the test of time. Whether you enjoy something sublime, whimsical or grandiose, the Passion of Italy will offer an extraordinary musical journey paired with amazing architecture and culture.
Our program includes music from many of the great Italian composers including Palestrina, Vivaldi, Monteverdi and Verdi. Opportunities for the women and men to sing as a separate chorus are also a part of this festival program. In addition, the music selected is appropriate for Lenten season in Italy. This music will bring the musicians very close to an understanding of how connected the people of Italy are with the beautiful Cathedrals and their traditions. The slated repertoire is chosen to offer choirs the opportunity to excel, grow and celebrate great music both at home and abroad.
Throughout history music, art, and architecture have reflected world politics and culture. This remains true in our time as well. Singing the great music of Italy will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about the world and how music and people are not that different across the globe.
Please join me for what will be a very memorable tour to Italy!
